Our hotel booking client wanted to use Facebook to capitalize on last-minute travelers looking to find hotels without getting hit with late booking prices. While they had been running mobile app install campaigns on Facebook & Instagram already, expanding their program to target actual bookings provided several challenges. First, they didn’t have the right foundation to begin running dynamic campaigns. Their product feed wasn’t Facebook compatible. And since they direct their users to purchase through the mobile app, they needed to have deep links for all hotels to link app users to relevant in-app pages. Second, even with the correct set-up, retargeting campaigns would require a focused, competitive strategy in order to reach their procrastinating, same-day buyers.
